MANAGER

Annette Baidoo is the manager at the nursery. She was formerly the manager of a residential care home for people with learning disabilities. Annette holds a Diploma in Pre-school Practice Level 3, a Certificate in the National Association of Maternal & Child Welfare and a Certificate from the Montessori Nursery Foundation.

Her qualifications also include a City & Guilds Level 4 in Further Education Teaching Stage 1 and a BTEC Level 4 in Management. Annette is a good team leader and thrives on the work she does.

DEPUTY MANAGER

Christine Crowley is the deputy manager at the nursery and holds a NNEB and NVQ Level 4. Her qualifications also include first aid and food hygiene. Christine has worked at the nursery since it opened in 2008 and has a passion for the work she does.

City Gates Day Nursery employs up to 20 full and part time staff. To work in childcare it is necessary to undergo rigorous assessment. We look for staff who have a love and concern for children, are enthusiastic about working with them – and have a never-ending store of creative energy! The staff need to be able to laugh a lot with the children in order to create a light atmosphere throughout the day. We would like them to be qualified with a NNEB, NVQ Level 4 or 3 in childcare when they join us, and while they are with us we also want them to undergo continuous training – just to ensure their skills are regularly updated.

City Gates Day nursery has a Christian basis. We are part of the well known local church in Redbridge City Gates Christian Centre and some of our staff are Christian people. All our staff are very committed to the jobs they do and the care they give to each child.
